You can join our exciting local and international agencies Westland partners with, where we are serving and how your giving helps neighbors all over the world in need.

Fulfilling the Great Commission

The Missions Ministry exists to:

  • Participate in opportunities of local, national and international missions.
  • Provide prayer, encouragement and resources for those who choose to participate in one or more of these opportunities.

Our church members of all ages and backgrounds serve daily as individuals or part of a group. You can join our teams at local Nursing Homes, Katy Christian Ministries, Ballard House service projects, Pregnancy Help Center, Short-term Mission trips to Apache Nation of Whiteriver, AZ & Bulembu, Swaziland of Africa, Guatemala, and many more projects.

Westland Ongoing Missions

There are many ways in which we live out our mission statement of Matthew 28:19-20 to see lives changed by the Gospel in Katy, West-Houston & around the world.
Guatemala Trip, June 2018
Known for its cobblestone streets and colonial architecture, Antigua is the cultural hub of Guatemala drawing tourists from all around the world.
But on its outskirts are families who struggle to earn enough money for basic food and shelter. Children as young as seven often give up the chance for education to help sustain their families. Your mission: join forces with local ministries to disrupt the cycle of poverty by providing hands-on help through construction projects and Children’s Bible school. Your work will serve to brighten the future of Guatemala.
The last day of your mission trip is set aside for souvenir shopping, relaxing, and exploring the ancient historical town of Antigua!
Lodging: Teams are housed at a local hotel that provides a place to relax and unwind at the end of each work day. The hotel has a swimming pool as well.
Food: One of the experiences of every Mission Discovery camp is the attention to providing good food! Breakfast and dinner meals are prepared buffet style by the wonderful hotel staff. Lunches are sandwiches on the worksite.
Transportation: Once your team lands in Guatemala, all your ground transportation is taken care of by Mission Discovery.
Daily Work: Past teams have built homes, chicken coops, cooking stoves, distributed water filters, distributed food to families being served by Mission Discovery, led children’s Bible school, and even challenged a local school in basketball. Every week of service is unique.
