In 1984, a visionary group of people in Houston believed God called them to reach people in Katy, Texas, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Westland Baptist Church was born out of that vision. When Roy Meadows was called to be the first full time pastor there were 38 committed people meeting in a Mexican Restaurant. Today, Roy and his staff lead over 400 attenders in the mission to reach people and help them grow in every way.

Westland is a church of vision. You will find that we are not ordinary in any way. The loving and gifted people at Westland believe that we should be culturally relevant and biblically sound. You will find love, acceptance, discipleship, encouragement, excitment and the challenge to be all God created you to be. What you will not find is a lot of rules, regulations and religious attitudes about life, God or others.

We exist to reach the lost (those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior) and to grow all believers to be fully devoted followers of Christ.
